Testing // End of Bocconi

December 19, 2015

Dear WordPress,

I’m in the comfort of my home in Daly City and I find that it’s difficult to look back at EVERYTHING after this long hiatus, but here I go.

After that pickpocketing incident, I fell right into Bocconi University’s two week finals.

My exams were on Friday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Cafe after cafe, school after school, I literally sat on my butt reviewing all my material day in and day out. The pro-side of this spread-out schedule was the amount of time I had for reviewing material, but the con-side was that I was almost the last one done.

Testing has never been fun.

Update // finals, appreciation, thoughts

December 2, 2015

Buona sera WordPress,

Before I begin reminiscing the unforgettable memories I’ve made within the past two weeks, I thought I would document thoughts I’ve had in the past two days.

I honestly feel like I’m running up against a descending escalator because I’m paralyzed with the realization that finals week is approaching fast and I’m neither ready for the tests nor reality back home.

We’ve started the “applause for your professor on his / her last lecture” and I clapped for two professors today.

Although all my Professors have been impressive / incredibly kind, My Corporate Finance Professor exceeded expectations Bylightyears. My German Oxford graduate professor was incredibly clear, professional, and his passion as a professor seeped through his lectures. He was gone last week to present his research he received an award for in Hong Kong and Singapore. He treated our entire class to coffee after class (How dandy!) I wish I went to a business school now. ahaha.

He believes Globalization is happening and happening fast. I agree. Coming from an assortment of countries is no longer as ” special ” as Continue reading

Milan // my favorite pizza place, rant

November 2, 2015

Dear WordPress,

UGH Trenitalia, you are horrible once again. From delays to stolen money to weird policies to everything in between, you are just an endless struggle for us foreigners.

On the day of our day trip to Bologna, my friend attempted to buy tickets only to be charged and not receive any shape or form of our tickets. On the day of, we ended up buying them at the machine since we didn’t have time.

She called Trenitalia, went to the Milano Centrale booth TWICE, called her credit card company, and now filed a complaint online.

I’ve heard of / experienced so many more Trenitalia mishaps. sigh.

Midterm Hiatus // Best friend in Europe

October 22, 2015

Gutentag WordPress,

I’ve finally finished dragging my way out of midterms! Testing season never fails to throw me off schedule and make time go by slower.
Bocconi midterm season entails no class for two weeks and optional midterms. Yay to no classes! No to testing. I decided to take all of mine since the scores can only benefit me! (or so they say.) I’ve noticed at some point during my studies, I start feeling like there’s no more point in studying. I suppose it’s me giving up.. (DON’T GIVE UP ME D:lol )

My best friend from back home (San Francisco) came to travel with me during midterm season and I felt horrible for not being able to take her around Milan as much as I would’ve liked to! I picked her up at MXP (Malpensa Airport) on the night I finished my second midterm and she was just shocked that she made it here in one piece. (priceless face)

A little bit of homesick.

October 9, 2015

Dear WordPress,

If you’ve been keeping up with my blogs, you would have probably read that I got free samples from Lush a couple of days ago. Well, I finally took that tiny sample into the shower and lathered Dolce Meta shampoo and American Dream Conditioner (Balsamo in Italian) into my hair this morning! It’s 11:25pm and I still smell the scent in my hair.
They didn’t provide me with enough conditioner for my thick hair so I can’t fully give you an accurate review, but it made my roots softer than before! I guess quality really does matter!

I was a semi-lazy butt today because I went on my morning run (not a lazy butt) , but stayed in the whole day afterwards (mega-lazy butt). I got in touch with my Japanese side by listening to some Goosehouse (amazing youtube group) and my Australian side (just kidding) by listening to Jayseelee (Australian twin cover artists). I’m addicted to #bemorebarrio by Sheppard.

I also finished reading Corporate Finance and looked for some internship opportunities. I’m hoping to e-mail my past internship coordinator soon to ask for some resume + cover letter + interview help.. (AH) . I still have loads of stuff to do. This third year responsibility is weighing me down and I can’t get this anxiety off my shoulders. I’m definitely not qualified for all these positions on tritonlink.. YET! I got this Seira. I got this. Just stop listening to so much Jayseelee and practice interview questions. Just stop.

I think I have a slight case of FOMO. I miss JSA and everybody in it! Talking to Arisa makes me feel sane ❤ I’ve also been slowly talking to Yusaku (my co-Matsuri Coordinator partner) about recruiting committee heads and such such.

Watch Stephanie’s (our historian) amazing creation!

Here is the homesick slump that I wasn’t expecting! (lulz) I’m definitely not ready to go home / love being in Milan, but I miss my family + friends + easy access to everything. Lisa’s too busy for me *tear

Pho // Date with Rayting

October 7, 2015

Buona sera WordPress,

Online homework assignments suck. Why do they exist? I wish I could understand simple things as quickly as some other people can! lol In addition to being a horrible multi-task-er, I also have a very short attention span. This combination makes it harder for me to absorb more information. Help me from dozing off please D:. How do people play games/get distracted yet still understand all the material? I think our brains function on different wavelengths. *tear

On a happier note, Rayting and I finally had our dinner date. We fell upon Chinatown while attempting to head to a highly yelped Vietnamese restaurant.

Girolamo // Shopping // Case Study

September 30, 2015

Ciao WordPress,

It’s been a few days wordpress! Yes, when I am not travelling, I am learning. In the midst of learning my financial a-b-cs and trying to get online assignments done + group work finished, I’ve also been able to successfully wind down here in Milan.

I always (always = every time I’m on the tram / at Duomo / in school), ALWAYS cherish the opportunity I’ve been given to study here. Everyday, I like to believe that I’m a local commuting to school. (Teehee)
The campus is a capesize tinier than UCSD which is so peculiar considering I’m used to taking 30 minutes to walk from one lecture hall to another. We only have two buildings with classrooms + a small library. The library is puny compared to UCSD’s famous and somewhat infamous (all nighter infamous) Geisel. Study space is purely impossible to find here because Bocconi students take their studies seriously! Everybody is focused and highlighting the crap out of their books! Italians (Bocconi Students) are models AND studious. I like being in such a studious environment so I really don’t mind. 😀 What I DO mind is the smoke. I really can’t handle/stand it. Culture shock problems….
